This chart provides six simple steps for taking measurements for your lace wig.

1. Hair Preparation: I recommend styling your current hair like it will be under the wig when the wig is worn. In order to achieve accurate measuring results, either braid your hair straight back into flat cornrows along the scalp, braid hair in a flat beehive, or wrap it back in a flat tight ponytail. Make sure to get the hair as flat and tight as possible before taking the measurements. This will eliminate bulges that distort head contours.

If you have hair that is less than 3" Inches in length or no hair at all, you can either take measurements when the hair is wet and flat along the scalp, apply a wig cap to flatten the hair, or simply take measurements directly to the scalp. Make sure to press firmly against the scalp and measure only where your hairline appears or wherever you desire the lace hairline to be constructed.

2. To Take Self Measurements: Use a soft measure tape to measure steps 1-6 below, you can use the typical tape measure used for clothing.  I take measurements in whole and half inches, so please round your measurements up not down.  Example: 12 3/4 should be rounded up to 13 and 12 1/4 should be rounded up to 12 1/2.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure that your measurements are ACCURATE.  If you do not measure properly, your wig may not fit.  So take your measurements at least 2-3 times to be sure.
